Dancers are inspired by the shell engravings from the Spiro Mounds and each design band on the moon has been found on artifacts from various mound sites including the Spiro Mounds in Oklahoma and the Moundville Mounds in Alabama. Painting is acrylic paint on artist board and is framed but not under glass.
Harvest Dance has won two major awards in juried competition:
It won a 2nd Place Award in the Paintings Category at the 2005 Five Civilized Tribes Fine Arts Competition at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma. It also won a 3rd Place Award in the Two Dimensional Category at the 2005 Indian Summer Indian Arts Festival in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Victoria will provide certificates and/or ribbons to the buyer authenticating the awards.
